The Chairman and Managing Director, Nana Hotel, Ota, Wale Seriki, has revealed that the need to rejuvenate and revolutionize the hospitality sector led him to think out of the box for the inauguration of Celebrity Nite Out in Nana Hotel, Ota.
Seriki, who made this revelation while addressing the press in Lagos recently said: “I took a cursory look at the development of the hospitality business as it concerned hotel sector and I was depressed because of the downward slope the sector was heading for. Instead of the sector moving up the ladder of proactive and positive response to contemporary service enhancement and delivery, it was sliding backwards into the dungeon of the primitive era of selling only bed, food and drink. This cannot move the sector beyond its nose.”

“I now realised that there seemed to be gloom in the hospitality sector as regards occupancy rate and revenue generation. I observed that though there are fewer hotel rooms in Nigeria, there were few guests patronising the sector. I found out that some of us in the business of hotel is still romancing the business as usual while the sector demand business unusual,” Seriki disclosed.
Seriki added: ‘So when I took over this hotel, I figured out what was missing in the hotel business and what we could do to reinvigorate and revitalize the business in terms of offering a new vista of reference and patronage. Then the idea of celebrity nite came up. And the first celebrity we hosted on October 28, 2018, was the new Olota of Ota, Oba (Professor) Adeyemi Obalanlege. The kabiyesi brought royal grandeur to the hotel and the aura of that hosting sting lingers till today.
He further informed :“Our next celebrity is Senator Babalola Odunsi, member of the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and an advertising tsar who will be hosted to a banquet and grand reception at Nana Hotel and Quadrangle, Ota. He will be gracing the nite with his political friends and others who respect and love him”
“The celebrity Night Out is designed, not only to attract and inject freshness into the hotel business, but to showcase the best of men and women of our time so as to serve as revered mentors and role models to upcoming youths. We should celebrate the good ones among us while on earth,” Seriki stated.
