MANUFACTURERS of smart products and one of the top three television brands in the global TV industry, TCL Multimedia, has identified Nigeria’s huge population and its prospects for businesses, as a key reason for its recent decision to introduce its array of tv products into the nation’s market space.

Speaking at the unveiling in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer/Chairman of Mehdi Global Services Ltd, Mr. Adnan Mehdi, explained that the company which was founded in 1981, was making its foray into the nation’s tv market, in recent times to enable it explore the huge opportunities the market provides.

He insisted that in spite of the  enormous challenges facing the country’s economy in recent times, the  country’s business landscape still holds its attractions to both foreign and local investors.

According to him, TCL Multimedia, as a major player in the global tv market is coming into the market to further enhance the experiences of TV viewers, with its array of TV brands.

He argued that one of the key focus of the company is to continually innovate and come up with products that will put it ahead of competition and make it the preferred  choice of consumers in that market segment.

“As a company that thrives on innovation, we initiated the ‘Double-4’ strategic  transformation that brought together two concepts: ‘smart4 internet’ and ‘products 4 services’ and restructured to overall business with 11 business divisions; 7 division for products, 3 divisions for services and  one division for venture capital and investment,” he stated.

He added that despite the sophistication of the array of products, being introduced into the market, the company had made adequate after-sales services arrangement to take care of issues  some consumers might have with  some of the products.

“The idea is to take audience experience to the next level. That is why we are giving you a tv set that you can always programme with your android phone to ensure that  you can watch your tv programmes on the go, that is on your  mobile set, in case you are not by  your tv set.

“We have also provided a very comprehensive after- sales arrangement that will enable customers’ complaints to be attended to on time, irrespective  of where they live in the country,” he added.

Mehdi however expressed the optimism that TCL products would soon make their in-roads into the nation’s TV market, compete effectively with the existing brands and become the preferred choice  of consumers in that market segment.
