Why we are inducting Emir of Kano into Sigma — Sigma Club

Sigma Club, University of lbadan, is set to play host to the presence of His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi 11 -The Emir of Kano.

This was disclosed by the Sigma Chief, Valentine Igbonekwu, when he led other  executive members of the club to the Tribune House in Imalefalafia, on Friday, to seek the support of the company as it prepares for its 68th anniversary.

At the Sigma Guest Luncheon event, where men of good character, discipline and high

Integrity, who have risen to eminence and prominence in the society are inducted into the Sigma Roll of Honour as Honorary Sigmites, Igbonekwu said the Muhammadu Sanusi would be inducted into the Sigma Roll of Honour.

The event which will hold on October 6 at the John Paul 2 Centre, Univeristy of Ibadan, is expected to play host to an array of high-profile personalities such as governors, senators, royal fathers, CEOs, academia, among others.

“This event will offer former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) the opportunity to step into the seat vacated by his predecessor, HRH (Late) Alhaji Ado Bavero, CFR who was inducted into the Sigma Roll of Honour in 1977 as the 12th honorary Sigmite.

Speaking at the occasion, the Associate Editor, Saturday Tribune Mr Wole Efunuga, assured the Sigma Club of Tribune support adding that “The Nigerian tribune, being the oldest surviving newspaper is proud to associate with a club like SIGMA because of its contribution and impact in the society, particularly in honouring exemplary Nigerians.”
