Why rAPC will never support Buhari ―Afegbua

THE national Publicity Secretary of the breakaway Reformed All Progressives Congress (RAPC), Prince Kasim Afegbua has shed more light on why the faction will never support, President Muhammadu Buhari second term bid in the 2019 election.

Afegbua who spoke on the phone yesterday from Abuja said that the RAPC will never support Buhari on account of his old age, insisting that at 75 it was obvious that he has nothing more to offer.

The factional scribe emphasised: “We will never support Buhari even if they put a knife on our throats. We are through with him. He has performed poorly.”

Afegbua, from Okpella, Edo state said that it was time for a generational shift, adding that it was high time Buhari and his likes who have stayed too long in the corridor of power, gave way to the new generation.

He argued that all over the world, there is always a generational shift and so it was politically correct for Buhari”s generation to step aside, having been in power for well over 50 years.

Afegbua insisted: “Buhari has done his best in the last three years and has failed to address the problems of the country. We want a new leader with fresh ideas and not the same old men who have held the country hostage for too long. The Reformed APC will never support Buhari for a second term and there is no going back on that.”

No matter the challenges, he vowed that the faction was ready to forge ahead as all its actions and decisions will be strictly guided by national interest.
