Why our X account is temporarily down — EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has explained the reasons behind the temporary downtime of its verified ‘X’ account, citing ongoing upgrades as the cause.

EFCC Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, shared the details with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday.

He stated, “Our ‘X’ account is temporarily down due to an upgrade we are currently undertaking. This process is essential for improving our system and enhancing the service we provide to the public.”

Oyewale clarified that such upgrades may occasionally render the account inaccessible, but assured that the agency is working diligently to resume normal operations.

“When system upgrades occur, temporary downtime can happen. We are making these improvements to better serve the public,” he added.

Despite the temporary unavailability of the ‘X’ account, Oyewale emphasized that other social media platforms of the commission, including Facebook and Instagram, are fully operational.

He also noted that the EFCC is using this time to update and refine its records on the account, ensuring that all information remains current and accurate.
