‘Why OCP is supporting Mohammed VI Polytechnic University’

Published by

THE quest to overcome the challenges of food security as well as the overall development of science and agriculture are the reasons OCP is supporting the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University through the provision of research facilities such as laboratories.

Deputy CEO/Executive Vice President for Science and Technology at the university, Professor Driss Ouazar, told journalists on Thursday during a tour of the campus located in Benguerir, Morocco.

He said the school, which was inaugurated in January, 2017, by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, with 650 students presently undergoing various training on agriculture and other sciences is expected to in the next coming years bring forth new generation of environmentally conscious competent leaders, equipped with the right tools to address the continent’s current and future challenges.

He also stated that the school encourages agri-bioscience solutions to train the human capital needed to support sustainable agriculture in Africa. “Its area of education include soil and water, environment, biotechnology, fertilizers, microbiology, plant biology and plant/microbe interactions.”

OCP is supporting the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University by reinforcing the extent of experimental living laboratories and technological platforms for research and innovation.
