A former senator from Kogi west senatorial district, Smart Adeyemi, has given reasons that the people of Nigeria should vote for President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the in next general election.

He said despite the enormous challenges facing the country, the president had shown that he had the required capacity to face them and take the country out of the doldrums.

The former senator, who said this during a tour of the Yagba federal constituency of the senatorial district, said the APC remained the best option for the people of the state and the country at large.

“I want to assure that in 2019, APC will still be in power at the national level. We don’t rule out the fact that there are issues just like past governments.

“APC is still far better than other parties. If anybody tells you otherwise, it’s just a blatant lie. It is not in the interest of this country for APC to lose out.

“Politics is all about service. If you want to serve the people, you will allow the will of the people to prevail. Political office holders and aspirants should have the interest of the people at heart.

“We must not be desperate about any position. Any politician who is desperate, actually, is not out to serve.”
