Why I wrote Inextricably Entangle —Oshiyemi-Cole

AUTHOR, Kemi Oshiyemi-Cole, has revealed why she wrote the book, Inextricably Entangle, saying “I want to bring awareness to one of the major root causes of insecurity in the country.”

Kemi Oshiyemi-Cole spoke at the University of Ibadan during the public presentation of  the book recently.

She said: “I want to bring to the consciousness of the people the fact that government alone cannot tackle the problem of insecurity.

“Tackling insecurity productively starts from everybody in the society; since poverty is a major cause of insecurity, tackling it starts from the rich and the comfortable in the society looking out for the poor and underprivileged.

“Since the rich and the poor in the society cannot be separated, they will always be inextricably entangled and the only way for the rich to have peace of mind is to look out for and reach out to the poor and underprivileged people around them.

“This is the starting point in overcoming insecurity in our land. This is the reason I wrote the book.”

While reviewing the book, Olanike Onimisi of the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Ibadan, said “the book reveals how the past actions of the major subjects in the book resulted in consequences they never expected.”
