Why I declared Sokoto elections inconclusive ― Returning Officer

The returning officer for the 2019 governoship election in Sokoto State, Professor Fatima B. Mukhtar has stated reasons why the Sokoto governoship election was declared inconclusive.
The returning officer, who declared the election inconclusive at around 3am  earlier on Monday while announcing the results at the collation center in Sultan Abubakar institute of Quranic and general studies school compound in Sokoto.
She described the margins of 3,413, which Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), takes to lead the All Progressive Congress (APC), as too narrow when compared with total number of cancelled votes which is about 75,403 votes.
According to Professor Fatima, ” The margins between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and that of APC is just about 3,413.
” When you have elections in 136 polling units accross 22 Local Governments and with total number of registered voters of 75,403.
” This is far above the merging of difference. Because of this, I can not declared any winner.
” I hereby declared this election as inconclusive. The INEC officials will decide when the elections will be conducted” she explained.
