Why I can’t date any man in Nollywood — Mimisola Daniels

Mimisola Daniels is an actor and movie producer, who graduated from the Olabisi Onabanjo University with a degree in Economics. In this interview by ROTIMI IGE, she speaks about her projects, passions and plans for the future.

What year did you join the industry?

I joined in 2009. This year marks my 10th year in the industry and I am glad for the journey so far. I have learnt and I am still learning. To God be the glory.

How many movies have you produced so far?

To the glory of God, I have produced four movies so far namely ‘Ewu’ (risk), ‘Mother’s Wish’, ‘Remember Me’ (Ranti mi) and ‘Surface’ which is my recent one. I am thankful for the support I have gotten from everyone in the industry.

Your new movie, ‘Surface’, has been trending on youtube in the last one week. How exactly did you come about the story?

The story addresses the normal issues happening in the society, I realised that most women lose their bodies while pregnant and most times, husbands don’t appreciate them for the sacrifice. So, I felt that I could pass the message to our men out there and help them understand that women do not choose to lose the sexuality or body shape but they (men) convinced us to.

Are you dating anyone in the movie industry?

No.

Are you sure? There are tongues currently wagging about the passionate kiss you had with Lateef Adedimeji in the movie…

(Sighs) Well, that was Dami Nelson kissing her husband, Akin Nelson. That was not Mimisola. Besides, I was just being professional about it.

What’s your relationship status?

I’m very single.

Why?

I have not found the right person who I feel I can accept his imperfections.

Can you date an actor?

I don’t think so.  If I find anyone who is worth dating, maybe I will give it a shot. But never say never because I am a very jealous person.
