Why do younger women date older men? (2)

In the vibrant and ever-evolving city of Lagos, the love story of Adeola and Emeka remained the gossip of everyone, many women believed Adeola married Emeka for his money and nothing else, while some are just waiting for the dooms day which they pictured in their minds, very few people believe there was true love between the duo.

Emeka was previously married to a beautiful Turkish woman who had 5 children for him. They got separated and she decided to go back to her family in Turkey; while Emeka remained in Nigeria.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the Lagos skyline and cast a warm, golden hue across the city, Emeka sat in his study, lost in thought. His past, particularly his failed marriage to a Turkish woman, weighed heavily on his mind. He had not entertained the thought of remarriage for years, content with his successful career and the companionship of his children.

But life had a way of surprising even the most steadfast of hearts. It was at this moment of reflection that a knock at the door interrupted his thoughts. Adeola, with her usual grace and charm, entered the room. She could sense that something was amiss and inquired, “Emeka, what’s troubling you?”

Emeka hesitated for a moment, then sighed deeply. “Adeola, there’s something I’ve been meaning to share with you. You know about my past marriage and how it ended. I never thought I would consider marrying again, but… there’s someone from my past who has re-entered my life.”

Adeola’s eyes widened with surprise. “Someone from your past? Who is it?”

Emeka leaned forward, his expression a mixture of nostalgia and uncertainty. “It’s my ex-wife, Leyla. She’s returned to Nigeria. She reached out to me recently, wanting to reconnect and discuss our children’s well-being.”

Adeola felt a swirl of emotions—confusion, curiosity, and a tinge of insecurity. “Emeka, what does this mean for us?”

Emeka took her hands in his, his gaze filled with sincerity. “Adeola, I need to meet with Leyla and address the past. It’s essential for the sake of our children. But I want you to know that you are the love of my life, and nothing will change that. Our love is true and unwavering, and I promise to be honest and open with you throughout this process.”

Adeola nodded, her trust in Emeka evident in her eyes. “I understand, Emeka. Your children’s well-being is important, and I respect your decision. We’ll face this together, just as we’ve faced everything else.”

In the quiet moments of introspection, Adeola found herself contemplating the uncertain future. What if the tables turned, and fate dealt Emeka a different hand?

It was in this somber mood that she pondered over the existence of his Will. Did he have a Will? There was no incident to ever discuss this. If he were to create a new Will, would she find herself included in it? These questions weighed heavily on her heart, amplified by the glaring age difference between them.

As she grappled with these uncertainties, Adeola couldn’t help but feel a sense of foreboding. The impending visit of Leyla, Emeka’s ex-wife, only intensified her apprehensions. She feared that Leyla’s presence might signify an impending catastrophe for her.

In her quest for clarity and guidance, Adeola decided to make a visit to her parents….

To be continued next week.
