Who is an optometrist

I want to know the difference between an Ophthalmologist, Optician and an Optometrist. Do they perform the same duties?

Opticians are technicians who fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision-correcting devices. Optometrists examine, diagnose, and treat patients’ eyes.

Ophthalmologists are eye doctors who perform medical and surgical treatments for eye conditions. In many instances, Optometrists and Ophthalmologists are the same.
