What ought to be an Eid-El Kabir get-together became the biggest concert Ona-Ara Local Government had ever witnessed. Ilaji Stadium and Resorts Centre played host to an A- list Fuji musician and one of the brightest Ibadan has produced, Alhaji Rashidi Ayinde, who along with other musicians such as female Islamic songstress, Mahmuddah; Saheed Osupa replica and a new kid on the block, Saucekiddo; the physically challenged but able-voiced Fuji Musician, Aro-kesse; the electrifying singer, Larondo; and a host of others held their audience spellbound.

They dished out different brands of music throughout the concert.

Saucekiddo set the ball rolling with his sonorous voice to make up for the late start of the show. Aro-kese, Mahmuddah, Larondo and the rest performed to the admirations of the audience.

But when everyone thought the gig should be rounding off, the Ogo-Ibadan crooner, Merenge, showed his legendary prowess, as he sent the audience spinning.

The young and the old danced and waved to the rhythm.

As a form of inspiration to all the up-and-coming musicians, Alhaji Ayinde asked them to come on stage with him as they all performed together.

The Merenge exponent thereafter gave the audience what was regarded as take-away praying for them, which the audience acknowledged with cheers.

The chairman of Ilaji Stadium and Resorts Centre, Dotun Sanusi, while speaking on the huge turnout for the show, expressed his happiness for the peaceful manner the spectators conducted themselves.

“Our vision is to use sports and entertainment to eradicate social vices, not only in Ona-Ara Local Government area, but also  within the Ibadan metropolis. We have been using sports to get the young ones occupied; now, we have started using entertainment to relieve the young and old of stress. Everyone can go back to their job fully reinvigorated.

“We started the musical show during the Eid-Ul-Fitri festival when we brought several Islamic singers to perform, notably is Ere-Asalatu and Senwele-Anabi. The Ileya Show is the second of such and I can assure you that we shall do another one during the Christmas period,” Sanusi stated.
