When Nigeria treated 30,000 football lovers to exciting cultural performance at Moscow’s Red Square

Over 30,000 football enthusiasts and supporters were treated to Nigerian Cultural entertainment, as the National Council of Arts and Culture (NCAC) led by the Director-General, Otunba Segun Runsewe hosted the world at the iconic Red Square in the heart of Moscow, Russia.

The event was part of Nigeria’s three million supporters and effort to  promote Nigeria rich cultural potential to Russia and the world.

The performance at the Red Square, which attracted over 30 thousand sport and cultural  lovers features the splendour of Nigeria talking drum, dance and special performances by two ladies who dance to Fela instrumentals and another solo saxophonist who led the Nigeria national anthem.

Also some Nigerian students treat audience at the Ref Square to a rendition of a beautiful cultural performance showcasing the South-east and South-south people, dance and attire.

Adegboyega, a Nigerian musician also entertained the audience to a unique instrument and sounds of Nigeria and Africa music.

The event was also a platform for the Director-General, National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Runsewe to present the made in Nigeria entertainment instrument to the supporters club.

Speaking at the event, the Nigerian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation, Professor Steve Davies Ugbah, said the outing is part of the festivity put together by Nigeria to  not only support the Super Eagles at the Russia 2018 and but also repositioning Nigeria in the comity of nations in the area of revere cultural splendour are ways of attracting tourists and investors.

This outing will help to expose Nigerians to the Russians and the rest of the world.

“Also the significance of today’s international exhibition in Russia is that it has never happened before, so to declare today as Nigerian day in this platform showcase our standards, arts, artifacts and culture which is a wonderful thing and I hope it continues.

“I also hope that what we started today will go beyond today, but sees it as the beginning to also market Nigeria to the Federation of Russia world.

“ I think the NCAC are wonderful in hosting a great platform to promote Nigeria and I hope this will continue to happen after the world cup and I also congratulations the Nigeria house for putting this show.

This promotional effort is a confidence building venture to tell our rich cultural story to the world. Also Russia don’t actually know much about us and this is an avenue for us to correct any wrong impression or misconception the western media have painted about us.”

Also speaking at the Red Square, the Director-General of the NCAC, Otunba Runsewe reassured his commitment to use all the privileges available to the council to not only reposition the image of Nigeria but to also build a positive image of Nigeria unique culture, people and identity in the minds of international tourists and visitors at the Russia 2018.

Runsewe also donated some creatively designed made in Nigeria musical instruments to assist the supporters club.
