When Dapo Abiodun hosted President Julius Bio

It’s uncommon for the president of a country to pay a visit to an individual. In the tradition and culture of different tribes in the world, the honour of such visit is bestowed on someone worthy in the society, perhaps a monarch or a president of another country.

This rare honour came the way of Heyden Oil boss, Dapo Abiodun, a few days ago, when the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Bio, visited his Ikoyi, Lagos home for a dinner.

It was a gathering of the who-is-who in Lagos politics, business and social circuits, as the Heyden boss gathered his friends to give the Sierra Leonean President a warm welcome.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Thisday publisher, Nduka Obaigbena and a host of other prominent people were in attendance.

The reason for the visit was later revealed when the President in his remarks praised Dapo Abiodun and described him as one of the few cementing a solid relationship between Nigeria and his country.

The presidential visit was also hinged on the functions and role the Heyden boss is set to play as Nigeria’s new Corporate Affairs Commission’s chairman.
