What to know about late former drummer for My Chemical Romance, Bob Bryar

Former drummer of My Chemical Romance, Robert Cory Bryar, popularly known as Bob Bryar, has passed away at the age of 44.

His body was discovered at his home in Tennessee on Tuesday, 26 November 2024, just two days before Thanksgiving.

According to TMZ, law enforcement authorities do not suspect foul play, noting that his possessions, including musical equipment and firearms, were untouched.

Born on 31 December 1979, Bob Bryar began his career as a sound technician for the band The Used. It was during this time that he met the members of My Chemical Romance while they were on tour together.

3. Joining My Chemical Romance

In 2004, Bryar joined My Chemical Romance, replacing their original drummer, Matt Pelissier. His entry came shortly after the release of the band’s second album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.

4. Contributions to Iconic Albums

Bryar played a key role in the success of My Chemical Romance. Notably, he contributed to their critically acclaimed album The Black Parade, released in 2006, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In March 2010, My Chemical Romance announced Bryar’s departure. The split was described as a painful decision for both sides. Later, Bryar revealed that he struggled with feelings of depression and anger following the departure.
