Just when many had thought that Afro pop legend, Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2face, had rested his music laurels to attend to other businesses, he has defied the odds to come up with a new album, more than half a decade after his last compilation.
2face is rated as one of the most decorated Nigerian artistes and has lived up to expectations with recognitions from within and outside the country trailing his career. Some years back, he drew the ire of many when his planned protest against the government over some of its policies was botched on the eve of its commencement.
He would later make an announcement stating that he could no longer proceed with the protest that many people believed would have kicked off a revolution. Since then, 2face has maintained a quiet life, focusing on his business and dropping singles that placed him as one of the best.
With his 20 years on stage celebration coming close, the Amaka crooner is planning to usher his fans into frenzy with a new album that would take his albums to seven.
While many artistes have been taking the year by storm, dropping singles and releasing albums and Eps, many would not have anticipated an album from music veteran, 2face, given that it has been six years since a solo studio project from the popular artiste.
The artiste announced via his Instagram page on Friday the release of his new album as fans got a look at the album cover which released the acts he enlisted.
“Anticipate!!! This album is for warriors,” the artiste disclosed.
Fellow music stars 2face featured on the album include Burna Boy, Wizkid, Peruzzi, Tiwa Savage and Olamide, among others.
The music icon suggested the importance of his album entitled ‘Warriors’ to be a deliberately timed project to mark his two-decade journey in the music industry, a feat which highlights his longevity and sustained relevance as many of his contemporaries have hung their microphones or faded with time.
