What have you been up to?

I have been working on my album, Revealing Jesus. This is the culmination of over threeyears of a journey into God’s heart. The album is full of songs intended to be sung by God’s people back to him. The album is equipped by Holy Spirit to change our lives. This album will draw men and women into a depth of intimate relationship with God. You will be amazed when you listen to this album, and you will be amased at the information available about Jesus that you probably didn’t know or had taken for granted. Take it from me today, God is going to deliver Nigeria and Nigerians. I saw it in my dreams. I saw God moving and turning the hearts of people. Nigeria is about to be turned around. More of this dream will be revealed in my new album.

What informed your decision to produce double album?

Jesus has been in existence long before you can even imagine. ReadJohn 8: 56:58 and John 17: 5 it simply means the so-called devil came after Jesus. As a matter of fact, the devil is Jesus creation, so know this from today, that the devil you are fearing, I mean the one responsible for all your sickness, problems, no need to fear the devil. Jesus created him. The album is equipped to change your life. I noticed many are serving unknown God because He’s not known by many, even those that profess Him. Don’t be too quick to assume you know Jesus, because your knowledge of Jesus is what will strengthen you and what will make you stand.

You have been a gospel artiste for more than a decade and half, what has been the staying power?

If there’s anything in my life today that is worthy of commendations, It is a product of the Holy Spirit. What you will enjoy in Revealing Jesus album is a product of the Holy Spirit. The richness of the word in you, and the lavish operations of the spirit is not just for a show of it, the word and the spirit are the God factor in me. If you take it out of me, there’s nothing about God in me again. The word of God and the spirit made me who I am.

The buzz around your new album is huge, what have you done differently in this album?

This album carries an atmosphere that brings about an encounter with Holy Spirit. The rate of high blood pressure, depression and all kinds of psychological diseases are the resultant effect of not knowing who Jesus is. When you don’t know Jesus you will worry. Compromise is a proof that you don’t know Jesus,

What inspired your music journey?

It is the mandate of God for my life to use my gift to lead people to heaven.

How do you feel about not fully fulfilling your potential?

No, I have lost the ability to give up. My life is a testimony that God can choose to lift a man.

As a humanitarian musician, what role can policymakers play in the fight against extreme poverty?

I feel policymakers and citizens can play a major role in the fight against poverty and inequality by creating skills acquisition and start up’s support system programmes. With capacity building and Skill acquisition through work, educating the widow and children, we will be out of the doldrums.  Recently, it became clear that deepening the focus of support to developing cash income generating livelihoods constituted a critical foundation for the current and future welfare of widows and their families. It is the only way to providing a lasting solution to the problems we are facing as a society of people who have been neglected by those who should be our support base.

What can you say about the growth of your career over the years, are you comfortable?

People always ask me who inspires you on daily basis? I answer them with a simple answer, the Holy Spirit.

Having written some of the greatest praise songs such as Kabiosi, Oba Titiaye, do you feel there is a pressure and expectancy on you to write more hit anthems, even with Revealing Jesus?

I’m really not under any pressure and if you’re doing things for the praises of men, you will be feeling the pressure. You’ve just have to love God and love people and do your best. Also, you have to work hard on your craft, of course, we all do that. You have to be applying yourself to your job anew so that you won’t be left behind.

What do you want to be remembered for?

I want to be the voice for the poor and widow. I want to remembered for championing the cause of the downtrodden. I want to keep advocating for those whose voice could not be heard.

What do you make out of the music industry and the kind of songs we hear today?

The industry is booming and I am proud of the growth but I am not sure I am proud of the songs they are promoting. Some of us who sing gospel songs don’t get the opportunity to air our songs on radio like others in the secular world but I am confident that God will use us to transform the industry. In fact, God is already using some of us to change the narrative now and I see more of it happening. If you listen to some of my songs and even the ones my colleagues in the gospel circle do, you would feel that there is already a shift. It is only a matter of time. We will prevail.
