The North East Development Commission (NEDC) on Monday said it has executed one hundred and thirty four projects in various sectors across Taraba State.
Muhammed Alkali, MD/CEO of the Commission disclosed this during a courtesy call to Governor Agbu Kefas in Jalingo.
Alkali said that the commission was in the state to introduce the new members of the board recently inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu and to also monitor some of the ongoing projects.
The MD disclosed that while most of the projects are completed and ready to be handed over, some were at various stages of execution and will be completed at the stipulated schedule.
In his response, Governor Kefas said the visit was a testimony of commitment by the Commission toward development in Taraba.
He commended the commission for her commitment in executing projects, and pledged the state government’s full collaboration and support to ensure the commission achieved its mandate.
“This visit is a testimony of your commitment to Development of the Northeast region and Taraba in particular. I am aware of the challenges confronting our region, both in infrastructure and security. I am optimistic that with the right collaboration, we would overcome. The NEDC plays a crucial role in achieving our goals and so, we hold you in high esteem.
“I commend the commission for her proactive steps in collaborating with the state. We would provide all the necessary collaboration and support to ensure full implementation of your projects in the State.
“I want to call on all other stakeholders to join us in achieving the desired development of our dear State. We can not limit ourselves to the government alone, the task ahead of us is enormous but not insurmountable,” Governor Kefas said.
