We’re not aware, in support of Wofai Fada’s marriage to our son — Cole family

The prominent Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos State, has publicly disapproved of the supposed traditional marriage of their son, Taiwo, and actress Wofai Egu Ewa, better known as Wofai Fada.

The denouncement came after viral images and videos showing Taiwo taking part in a traditional marriage rite with Wofai Fada in Ugep, Cross Rivers State surfaces.

The actress, also a comedian, had earlier taken to her Instagram account on Saturday, May 4, to share a series of pictures and videos taken from the traditional wedding ceremony.

However, the Cole family has distanced themselves from the traditional marriage between the duo.

In a viral statement released on Saturday on behalf of the family by Eng. Kunle Cole, they declared that they were neither aware of the marriage nor support or grant consent to the union.

The statement reads, “Images and videos have come to our attention showing our son, Taiwo, getting married to a Wofai Ewa in a traditional ceremony in Ugep, Cross River State.

“This serves to notify all acquaintances, family, and friends that the Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos, is not aware of any marriage ceremony of our Son Taiwo Olakitan Cole, neither did we grant permission nor support in this regard. As such, person(s) parading themselves as new members of the Cole heritage by virtue of this purported event are not known nor accepted by the family. All publications and documents being circulated about this are to be disregarded.”

However, a check by Tribune Online on Sunday revealed that Wofai Fada is unperturbed about the development as she continues to post pictures of herself and Taiwo on her Instagram page.

In one of her recent posts, she shared a video of herself and Taiwo with the caption, “Let love lead.”
