The Managing Director of Tantita Security Surveillance Nigeria Ltd (TSSNL), Chief Keston Pondi, has highlighted the company’s efforts in preventing crime rather than merely reacting to it.
Speaking during the visit of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, Pondi noted that kidnapping has reduced, though sea piracy remains a challenge.
He emphasised Tantita’s commitment to restoring an era free of vandalism and praised President Bola Tinubu for creating an enabling environment.
“We also appreciate the trust and collaboration with the NSCDC. We frown upon compromise and are committed to our mission,” he said.
He also noted that the company enjoys strong military support, with fishing activities gradually resuming.
Pondi revealed that Tantita is working to transform the environment by encouraging rice farming and other vocations to provide alternatives to crime.
“We are receiving initiatives on how to utilise the redeemed land and directing people into meaningful vocations,” he added.
In response, Commandant Audi, who said he was on a tour to formations, assured that NSCDC remains vigilant, urging Tantita to report any compromised staff immediately.
“We have dismissed about five officers caught aiding and abetting crime.
“The Federal Government is providing logistics and welfare, and we must reciprocate with integrity,” he said.
He lauded Tantita’s initiative to diversify, describing it as “an awesome step” towards economic empowerment and crime reduction.
The Commandant General also paid a visit to the chairman of TSSNL, Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo at Oporoza where the duo had a closed-door meeting.
Dr Audi’s visit formed part of an operational tour to strengthen security collaborations.
