We’re committed to raising next generation of leaders — Hillside University

The Hillside University of Science and Technology, Okemesi-Ekiti, Ekiti, has stressed the need to redefine the trajectory of university education in Nigeria by producing not just graduates but fit-for-purpose and globally competitive graduates and also carrying out cutting-edge research and community services.

The Chancellor of the university, Mr. Joseph Olaoye Jaiyeola, shared this thought and insights at an event organised by the university recently.

He said, in a statement made available to Nigerian Tribune, that Hillside University is offering itself as a transformative force in Nigeria’s university education system and would ensure it leaves no stone unturned to achieve the vision.

According to him, our university is out to equip students across disciplines with requisite skills knowledge, and good character that will enable them to excel in their chosen fields and other areas of life.

“We will also be known for cutting-edge research works, innovations and community engagement and we will ensure these commitments begin to come to fruition in no time,” he stressed.

On his part,  the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Iheanyichukwu Okoro, emphasised the determination of the university to raise next generation of leaders and innovators in a more accessible and inclusive manner.

He declared that the university faculty members are renowned experts in their fields, and the environment is conducive to learning and teaching.

He pointed out that even though the university is relatively new, it would focus on five-dimensional areas of specialisation, including Sciences/Security, Technology/Engineering, Education/Vocational, Agribusiness/Environment, and Medicine/Management (S.T.E.A.M).

While noting that the admissions for the 2024/2025 academic session are ongoing, he urged prospective students, who are qualified and desire quality education to enrol with the university.
