We’ll defend, protect Dangote Refinery from saboteurs — NUPENG

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has pledged to use all available resources to safeguard the Dangote Refinery from “economic saboteurs.”

This commitment was conveyed in a congratulatory letter following the commencement of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) production at the Dangote Refinery, signed by NUPENG’s General Secretary, Comrade Labi Olawale.

The letter, addressed to the President/CEO of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and reviewed by newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, hailed the initiation of PMS production as a historic and landmark achievement.

The letter states: “This day has been long anticipated and awaited with great anticipation and prayers not only by Nigerians but by the entire continent of Africa. We are immensely proud of you, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, for your extraordinary courage and determination. You have dared to venture where no one has before.

“This remarkable accomplishment at the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery and petrochemical plant is a testament to your steadfast commitment, innovation, and excellence in the energy sector.

“We acknowledge the significant efforts and dedication that have been invested to bring this vision to fruition. The successful production of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at this state-of-the-art facility signifies a major milestone for Dangote Refinery and represents a monumental advance for Nigeria’s energy independence and economic progress.

“Alhaji Aliko Dangote, your visionary leadership and relentless pursuit of excellence have been crucial in achieving this success. Your contributions to Africa’s industrialisation and economic development are truly commendable, and we are proud to witness the positive impact of your endeavours on our nation.

“As a union committed to the welfare and advancement of workers in the petroleum and natural gas industry, NUPENG is excited about the opportunities this development will bring in terms of employment for Nigerians, socioeconomic prosperity, and significant growth for our country.

“We are also aware of the schemes by those intent on undermining the progress of this groundbreaking initiative, but as NUPENG, we pledge to mobilise all our resources to defend and protect this proud African achievement.

“We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company to ensure the growth and sustainability of the oil and gas industry. Congratulations once again on this historic achievement. We wish you continued success and prosperity in all your future endeavours.”
