We will use ICT to alleviate poverty ―Pantami

The newly inaugurated Minister of Communications, Dr Isa Pantami has said that poverty and other challenges facing Nigeria could be solved using Information Communication Technology (ICT).
Dr Pantami said during his first meeting with the staff of the Communications Ministry shortly after his inauguration as Minister by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Pantami who was the Director-General of National Information Technology Agency (NITDA), said there are lots of government policies that are yet to be implemented.

“We have a lot of challenges in the country, we can use ICT to alleviate poverty and reduce the challenges, sit up and do the work.

“There are so many policies of the government that are not implemented, it is our responsibility to ensure that they are implemented so that history can be kind to us. We must work as a team.
“You will only be assessed based on your performance and your loyalty to your work. The ministry will create an enabling environment for you to do your work effectively”, the Communications Minister stated.
