We will not tolerate rigging ― IPAC

THE Ebonyi State umbrella body of registered political parties ‘Inter-Party Advisory Council’ (IPAC), has vowed never to tolerate any form of rigging in next year’s general election in the state.

Comrade Adibe-Nwafor Jenifer the chairman IPAC made the call in Abakaliki while calling on Independent
National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agents and other relevant stakeholders to ensure it is free, fair and credible elections in the state during the polls.

She then urged INEC to announce actual winners during the elections and avoid inconclusiveness which she noted was a way of rigging elections.

She advised candidates of political parties and their parties against hate speech, vote buying and selling, adding that any of the acts will lead to violence and other negative consequences.

“In the light of the above, Inter-Party Advisory Council in conjunction with some Civil societies and NGOs in Ebonyi State wishes to invite all the governorship candidates, National and State Candidates to attend a one-day peace accord program on violence-free elections, No to Hate Speeches during and after elections for Governorship, National and State Assembly Candidates in Ebonyi State.

“IPAC as a body in Ebonyi State will not condone any form of rigging in Ebonyi State and we are calling all concerned to ensure there are free fair and credible elections in Ebonyi state,” she said.
