We will not be fooled by the hypocrisy of APC ― Ortom

Published by

GOVERNOR Samuel Ortom of Benue State yesterday said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)  has failed and said that the party should not be voted back.

The governor stated this in Otukpo and  Idekpa,  headquarters of Ohimini Local government area of the state.

Ortom maintained that President Muhammad Buhari led federal government had failed because it is not ready to protect and defend the people of the country, this he said was the primary responsibility of any government.

According to Ortom, there are killings everywhere;  Zamfara, Plateau, Adamawa and other states, killings are going on.

” We can not continue like this. People have come to deceive us in the past and we cannot be fooled by those people and their party because we now have good people, good leaders who can now offer us good advice.

“We will not continue with the impunity the ruling APC had brought to the country. Look at the case of former SGF, Babachir Lawal who was given contract of over  N200 million to supply grass and he diverted the money, federal government set up panel who carried out investigation and indicted him. Up till today, no action was taken against him because he is an APC member.

“Senator Obanikoro a PDP member then, who was arrested and investigated over monies he allegedly gave to former Ekiti governor,  Fayemi and just because he defected to APC, his sin had been forgiven.

“Buhari lacks the capacity to fight corruption and must be shown the way out. Therefore, Benue people should vote Atiku Abubakar and other PDP candidates.

“Voting PDP means voting out poverty, killings and corruption because all these elements are striving well under Buhari led government,” Ortom stated

The former Senate president, Senator David Mark, described APC as a terrible party which is not good for the people of  Idoma and the entire state and charged them to reject the party.

Mark said that governor Ortom had  sacrificed his life for Benue by defending the people and urged them to make similar sacrifice for Ortom by voting him again into power.
