THE governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Mr Emmanuel Jime has promised a better living standard for the people of the state if elected come March 2nd.
Jime stated this yesterday during the APC rally at Lessel in Ushongo LGA of the State.
The governorship candidate maintained that his intention if given the mandate is to make Agriculture a priority.
Based on this, Jime promised to revive all the ailing cottage industries in the state.
“In this state, we know that Ushongo is the home of citrus. When we revive our ailing industries, we shall look at areas that when we site industries, the raw materials would be handy. I believe your area will not be found wanting in this too. Only when we have these industries that we will begin to have value for our products”.
Earlier speaking, the former gubernatorial candidate of PDP in 2015 and one time Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Prince Terhemen Tarzoor, warned the people of the state to beware of propaganda as the 2019 general elections approach.

He posited that the mess that the state had found itself at the moment was self-inflicted, explaining that the people should not believe wholly lies and fake stories told by those in government today those he said thrive in nothing but propaganda and mischief.
Tarzoor was the standard bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 general elections but lost to the incumbent, Samuel Ortom who won on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said, “when I wanted to be Governor, I was well prepared for leadership, I was well equipped and knew the problem of our state. But people deceived you that I am an irresponsible person who does not only wear earrings but perms his hair.
“Surprisingly, people believe this lies and blackmail. They quickly forget that when I was a Speaker of the State Assembly here, you were always watching me on TV; seeing me at occasions and while I was campaigning, you would always see me physically.
My hair was not permed, I had no earrings on me, yet you believed the lies and decided to vote in those who created the lies. Can you say you have it better today? Has the system improved?
“Today, they have concocted and brought another because there is nothing to show as an achievement. They are now telling lies against Emmanuel Jime that his mother is Fulani and that he is being sponsored by the Miyeitti Allah. These are pure lies that you must not believe and make another mistake”.
He said that he was solidly in support and part of the dream to redeem Benue under the leadership of Emmanuel Jime.
