We want to raise leaders of tomorrow — JCI Olubadan President

President of Junior Chamber International (JCI), Olubadan chapter, Juliet Akinkunmi, has reiterated the group’s commitment in raising leaders of tomorrow.

Speaking on Saturday during the Leadership and Business Summit 2.0 at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Akinkunmi said the JCI is focused on discovering talented young professionals who would take over leadership roles in the country in the nearest future.

The programme, with the theme,  “Transformational Leadership and Innovative Business Strategies for the Future,” had JCI members, business professionals and aspiring leaders in attendance.

The president highlighted that the youth, being the future of the nation, are in the best  position to be groomed to lead the country to greater heights.

She said: “It’s a pity that the youth of today no longer have the zeal to work for a better future, but will rather engage in vices to make a living.

“With this leadership summit, we hope to reignite productivity among  youths towards building a better tomorrow.“

In his remarks, the guest speaker, Honourable Ayotunde Fatokun, also emphasised the importance of adaptability, effective communication and a clear vision as key attributes of transformational leaders.

“The Leadership and Business Summit 2.0 focuses on transformational leadership and innovative business strategies offered insights into leadership growth, business innovation, and practical advice from industry experts,” he said.

Fatokun also noted that the attendees were aided with valuable networking and support for various small businesses.

“Attendees gained valuable networking opportunities, mentorship, and support for small businesses, as there is room for Exhibition stand making it a successful platform for personal and professional development,” he added.

The panelists shared practical and real-life scenarios, offering actionable advice on how to start and sustain small and growing businesses and also pledged their support to JCI Olubadan members, encouraging them to reach out for guidance on specific areas of concern.
