THEY are coming again, inviting us with the same aroma we’re used to; aroma of sweet smelling baked bread that will soon fade as usual. We shouldn’t be fooled again. Come on! Don’t deny; we were once fooled, We just shouldn’t be again.
They will come for your votes like they use to, let us make them justify why their request should be granted. Ask frank and fair questions; in the last four years what have you done on quarterly basis? Show us projects done in your constituencies: Any borehole dug? Mention schools you’ve renovated, give us the list of roads you maintained, are there transformers you have installed, where are they? Point at hospitals you equipped.
We are tired of the same stories of buying motorcycles for youths to break their legs and you call that empowerment when you actually expose them to lung diseases and broken legs. Is that not disempowerment? No! The youth deserve far more than that.
Instead, show us the list of people young and old that you’ve trained and set up. What exactly have you done to make life easy for those you claim to represent? Ask questions. With all your years of collecting sitting allowances, convince us you actually deserve another term. What proposals have you presented on the floor of the house to better the lives of your last benefactors? If you have not been doing these and more in the last four years on quarterly basis, then we don’t need you on that same seat anymore.
Good people of Nigeria don’t be fooled with their cosmetics donations/giving in about six months ago, it’s just to erase your memories of their selfishness and neglect.
Don’t be too quick to embrace them. Governors seeking re-election should be quizzed as well.
What have you done in each local government under your leadership? Prove to us you deserve that seat again by giving us your progress report in the last four years.
If the state was on figure one before you took over, has it moved forward or slipped into negative? Show yourself to be accountable; give us facts and figures.
What are those things lacking in the state before, have you provided them? We want to hear your plans for everybody residing within your state? Give us a very clear road map with time frame attached to those things you have in stock for us. Tell us how you intend to achieve that.
