We remain in ADC, says Dapo Lam, others

Honourable representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Dapo Lam Adesina has re-echoed the fact that he and other members of House of Representatives from Oyo state remain with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after the February 23 election.

Speaking with Tribune Online on Wednesday after the reunion of Lam Adesina’s political scions at his residence, Felele, Ibadan, Honourable Dapo said they have not returned to All Progressive Congress (APC) saying they are still members of ADC and remain loyal to the tenets of the party.

The meeting which was attended by the deputy speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Barrister Abdul-Wasi Musah; Honourable Sunbo Olugbemi of Oluyole Constituency; Honourable Abiodun Olasupo pf Iseyin, Itesiwaju and Kojola constituency; Honourable Michael of Egbeda/Ona-Ara Constituency, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun among others.

According to Adesina “It is very clear that we have told our members that we remain, members of ADC, because it is not in our character to be jumping from one place to the other. A lot of people understand the reason we left the APC and the challenges that made us leave the APC still there, why do we need to rush to go there again?

“We encourage our people, no matter the situation, we lost the last election but that one has come and gone and another badge is coming, our people should go and vote for House of Assembly candidate of ADC and on the issue of gubernatorial, we are still consulting, both the Lamist and Unity forum are still with ADC.

“We are still consulting, even if we have to align with any party, we have to consult our people, we are leaders of the grassroots, so nobody should expect us to just follow the majority. We have to be responsible leaders, so we are consulting far and large.

“I, Honourable Sunbo Olugbemi, HonourableAbiodun Olasupo, Honourable Michael  Akintola consulted Senator Bola Tinubu on Tuesday in Lagos who happens to be our father where we have a good discussion but we are yet to made our decision known.”

Also, in a statement made available to Tribune Online after the meeting disclosed that the members should bare their minds on the state of affairs of the happenings in the ongoing heated political atmosphere as the following resolutions were unanimously made; that Lam Adesina’s political family remains indivisible one, Lamists/Unity Forum have nothing to do with All Progressives Congress, APC with its sheer disdainful conduct to rubbish and obliterate the legacy of the late former Governor.

“We have not endorsed any gubernatorial candidate as we are still consulting far and near. This is to make sure that opinions of all members of Lamists / Unity Forum as well as of those who contested the National Assembly elections are sought before arriving at a conclusion on who to support.”
