‘We organised Ijebu Rewa to propagate cultural heritage of Ijebuland’

It was all fun and excitement at Ijebu-Ode recently when a socio-cultural organisation, Ijebu Rewa hosted its third edition of the annual games hangout for the people of the area.

The event, which was attended by the crème de la crème of the society, held at the Ijebu-Ode Local Government playground.

The event attracted series of games both local and international, including Ayo Olopon, Draft, Snookers, Table Tennis, Chess, Swimming, Cycling, Horse Riding, Scrabble, among others.

While magic performance and Kegites gyration also featured in the programme.

The organiser also provided free medical services for the people in the area, just as they trooped out for free eye check up, dental care, among others.

Speaking on the importance of the programme, the Chief Executive Officer of Ijebu Rewa, Mayor Sijuade Olalekan, said he initiated the programme in order to propagate the cultural heritage of Ijebuland.

He said: “When we started this event three years ago, we did not envisage it would be accepted and become a big programme like this.”

He enjoined the public, particularly indigenes of Ijebuland, home and abroad, to key into the event, just as he said that lots of interesting, educating, entertaining and informative programme are upcoming.

The event was attended by Atinuke Kazeem, otherwise known as Mama No Network; Adesola Adetoyese (Baakini); Adewale Sokoya (Atotun-Atosi); Tife Alara Alenuloro, Alaseye Oodua, McCoded, McBanky, Olakunle Balogun, media practitioners, among others.
