We need to change this government, Alao-Akala declares

THE gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo state and former governor of the state, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala on Tuesday told the people of Iseyin that the government in power in the state needs to be changed, adding that there is a need for experienced people to take over the affairs of the state.

Alao-Akala made the declaration while speaking to the crowd that came to listen to his campaign at Ojude Oba in Iseyin, adding that the government in power does not have programmes and policies that are in favour of the masses.

“This present government must be changed. If the people of this state must enjoy the dividend of democracy, then chance should be given to tested and trusted hands that know what the people want and how to get it done.

“Oke Ogun and Isale Ogun have been left to suffer for too long just like other zones of the state. Vote for a government that is people oriented and concerned about the welfare of the people. The change we were given is a terrible one in all ramification and we cannot allow it to take us to the next of suffering,” he stated.

At the palace of the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdulganiy Adekunle Salau, Alao-Akala stated that  he and other candidates from his party came to pay homage and seek the blessings of the king as a father, adding that as the Mayegun of Iseyin, he cannot come to the town and not pay homage to the king.

Oba Salau on his part urged the people to shun any act that can lead to violence as nothing is worth unnecessary loss of lives.

For Alao-Akala, the tour of Iseyin was a successful one as the town stood at a standstill as multitudes trooped out to receive him and his team and escort them around the town on a road show that terminated at the Ojude Oba where he urged the people to vote his party which he said is the one that has the interest of the people at heart.
