The chairman of the party in the state, Mr. Paul Omotoso, said on Tuesday that himself and other leaders of the party, including chairmen of the party in all the wards in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government of the state and those in 13 wards of Ado-Ekiti, said “Governor Ayodele Fayose should forget his plans to dump PDP and join APC.”
The APC said Fayose should only come when he had cleared “himself of several criminal cases hanging on his neck,” saying “the warning came on the heels of reports that Fayose had concluded plans to dump PDP to join APC.”
But in a reaction, Fayose who denounced the APC said he could not join the party for all it was worth.
According to him, “for the party leaders to be saying that Fayose is coming to APC amounts to an unnecessary dissipation of their energy, ” saying “APC my foot.”
He said: “I will never have anything to do with APC. I will never ever come to APC and will never ever have anything to do with the party.”
A statement by the Publicity Secretary of Ekiti APC, Mr Ade Ajayi, on Tuesday had said the APC reacted to Fayose’s statement that gave a hint of his plans when he expressed displeasure at the just-concluded governorship primaries of PDP, threatening to dump the party for another party.
Ajayi said the APC chairman “warned all ward chairmen where Fayose lives and runs his businesses against accepting him to the party.”
