We are authentic stakeholders in Ekiti PDP —Fayose group

The members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, loyal to former Governor Ayodele Fayose, have declared that they are the real stakeholders and members of the party in the state.

This was coming following the recent gatherings and moves by some leaders and members called Ekiti PDP Stakeholders to reposition and take over the running of Ekiti PDP.

They alleged that the activities of Fayose, especially as they relate to his relationship with the APC-led government of Biodun Oyebanji are constituting a threat to the progress of the PDP in the state.

They called on Senator Biodun Olujimi to step up and be the rallying point towards the repositioning of the PDP.

But speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, on Sunday, one of the staunch followers of Fayose, Omolade Bolarinwa said the former governor remains the leader of the PDP in the state.

Bolarinwa who is currently a Special Assistant to Governor Biodun Oyebanji while dismissing the calls and moves by some people within the party against the former governor, noted that Fayose has done more for the PDP to win elections.

He queried: “Who are the stakeholders? We (Fayose group) are the authentic stakeholders as far as PDP is concerned in Ekiti State.

“Can those former party chairman and the rest of the people you mentioned, can they claim to be more relevant than a two-term governor; somebody that made them?

“These people are hungry set, I see them as a group of unserious elements looking for relevance and what to eat. Don’t mind them, they can’t fly to anywhere. We are authentic PDP stakeholders.

“Fayose is a perfect gentleman, a go-getter, lover of masses, political giant and philanthropist. He is a man who has done more than any other person to win elections for PDP in Ekiti.”

He revealed that the group is putting in everything in preparation for the forthcoming congresses of the PDP in the state.
