Watermelon pawpaw smoothie

Looking to amplify your workout session or game with a super food blend, an early smoothie intake is a great one, because it functions as quick energy for the body, with adequate carbohydrate, which you’ll have all day to burn off.  Also, adding a bit of protein and healthy fat helps to make that energy last more evenly and long-term; the whole day. So, this time of the year is great to create smoothies made largely from fruit, with a scoop of protein from yoghurt or milk.

 

Ingredients:

Papaya (Pawpaw)

Watermelon

Yogurt or milk

Honey (a tablespoon)

Optional:  Nuts, lemon juice

The process:

Cut pawpaw into small pieces

Cut out the watermelon and try to reduce the seeds in each curve

Blend the fruits together in a blender till smooth.

Add honey to taste

Add milk or yoghurt (slightly) to avoid losing the fruity taste

For a chewy smoothie, add nuts

For a sour taste, add a tablespoon of squeezed lemon.

Serve chilled.

Nutritional value of this smoothie blend:

Over 90 percent of a watermelon is water. Watermelon is thought to aid conditions including asthma, cancer, and inflammation. Watermelon is a fruit, and has many of the associated benefits including weight loss and energy levels and known to reduce risk of many lifestyle-related health conditions.

Many studies have suggested that increasing consumption of watermelon decreases the risk of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. The risks for developing asthma are lower in people who consume a high amount of vitamin C, found in many fruits and vegetables, including watermelon and pawpaw.

A study published by the American Journal of Hypertension found that watermelon extract supplementation improved the health of the circulatory system in obese middle-aged adults. As an excellent source of antioxidants, including vitamin C, watermelon and pawpaw, can help combat the formation of free radicals known to cause cancer. Both fruits aid digestion and watermelon, especially because of its water and fiber content, helps to prevent constipation, hydrates the body and prevents inflammation.

With this hazy weather, the smoothie with watermelon blend is very important, to keep you from being dehydrated.

With fruits smoothie, you can trust to have a radiant skin because it contains vitamin A, a nutrient required for sebum production, which keeps the hair moisturised. Vitamin A is also necessary for the growth of all bodily tissues. Adequate intake of vitamin C is also needed for building and maintaining the collagen, which provides the structure for the skin.

Yogurts can be high in protein, calcium, and vitamins. These can offer protection for bones and teeth and help prevent digestive problems. Low-fat yogurt can be a useful on a weight-loss diet.
