A teacher has dragged her husband before an Agege Customary Court in Lagos State, praying that the court should terminate her marriage on the account of irreconcilable differences.
The petitioner, Mrs. Khadijat Adejare told the court that her husband of seven years, Moshood is promiscous and doesn’t care about the well being of their three children.
She further accused her husband of having affair with their maid, adding that her husband prefers the maid to her. “He does not hide his feelings for our maid, Nike.
“He once told me that he prefers her in bed to me. I was shocked because our maid has been rude to me in the last few months before she finally decided to leave our house.
“Not only does my husband womanise, he would rather spend money on women he takes to hotels than pay his children’s school fees and take care of his family.
“He’s a furniture maker and I have, on many occasions, paid refund to his customers who were not satisfied with the work he had done from my hard earned money to avoid embarrassment. He is not willing to change. The alfa in the mosque we attend had called him several times but he refused to change.
“I again reported him to his parents during the last family meeting and he stood before all of them and promised me that he would change. The most painful thing was his bold declaration of his love for the maid.
“I want this marriage dissolved because I cannot continue to live my life like this,” she said.
In response, Moshood, denied all the allegations. “My wife wants to end our marriage because her former lover had just lost his wife and has been disturbing her that he wants to marry her.
“I love my wife and more importantly my children. I am shocked that she will stoop this low just so that she can fulfill her adulterous desires. All she has said about me are lies. She is free to go her way but she cannot go with my children to another man’s house.
“Her parents have tried to let her see reason, but she is bent on spreading false stories about me. I am sure she has even started sleeping with her lover even while she is still married to me,” he said.
