A wanted kidnap and arms dealer suspect to herdsmen in Delta State has been nabbed by operatives of the Nigeria Police, Delta State command.
The suspect, who has been on the run, was reportedly arrested on Thursday at about 4:45p.m around Market area of Abraka
The suspect, Musa Mohammed also known as Musa 1000, was said to be engaged in supplying arms and ammunition to marauding herdsmen who have been terrorizing University Town of Abraka and the environs.
Fifty-six-year-old Mohammed is a native of Dutsenma in Katsina State, but was residing in Cable Point area of Asaba.
Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Mr. Ibrahim Zanna, who confirmed the arrest, on Friday said that the suspect was arrested by a combined team of policemen led by one Inspector Julius Robinson.
According to the police boss, the police operatives were assisted by a local vigilance group, Eagle Vigilantes Group in the arrest of the suspect.
Zanna added that the suspect has been on the watch list of the police, alleging that he has been a kidnap ring leader supplying illegal arms and ammunition to a kidnap syndicate in the state.
“The suspect has been on the Command watch list having complicity in most kidnapping related cases and supply of arms and ammunition to herdsmen and kidnapping syndicates,” Zanna disclosed, noting that the suspect is undergoing preliminary investigations.
