Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko
The Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has described the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), as a veritable tool of peace, unity and national development.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Bashir Rabe Mani and issued to newsmen in Sokoto.
The statement said that Senator Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, spoke at his Gawon Nama, residence in Sokoto when hundreds of youths corps members serving in Sokoto paid him the annual Sallah homage.

He also described the corps members as the most potent assets of the nation, saying, ” these budding youths are the future leaders of the country.
“They have been fully trained and equipped to diligently take up this challenge of being the nation’s future salvagors.”
Senator Wamakko further expressed delight with the multitude of the promising youths who thronged his house for the Sallah visit, averring, ” it is historic and encouraging.
“This is a sign of unity amongst all Nigerians, irrespective of religious, cultural or ethnic differences.”
He called on them to always put Nigeria first, even as he challenged them to concentrate on serving their fatherland, for the even development of Nigeria to be fully realised.
The Leader of the youth corps members, Amodu Salisu described Senator Wamakko as a father, mentor, and a role model that everyone needs to emulate, adding, ” he is a great leader whose penchant for nation building is unparalleled”.
