Your Life counts

Walking in purpose

Published by

One of the most important questions we can and should always ask is why. Why is a question concerning reason for which something is done. Why deals with the issue of motive. It helps to uncover the goal or objective of the things that are done. It exposes the basis of things, issues and situations.

Why handles the issue of purpose.

“What you do in your life is only ever as good as why you do it. That why, or purpose, is defined in almost all dictionaries as the “…reason for existence.”. When we apply the powerful concept of purpose to our lives and organizations, they transform. Nothing becomes meaningless; everything becomes a stone on the path to delivering our reason for existence to the world.” Zach Mercurio

Purpose is what is anticipated by an action or a proposed action. Purpose is the reasons why we do what we do. Purpose is anticipated outcomes that is intended or that our planned actions are expected to accomplish. Purpose is intended desires, results, aims, ends or goals. It is the reason for which something exists or is done.

If our lives will count we must live on purpose and for purpose. We must live with purpose in mind. Our lives must be guided by specific anticipated desires. Our pursuits must be powered by purpose. We must live our lives based on purpose. Our lives must be lived deliberately, consciously and intentionally with purpose in view.

Living on purpose and for purpose will help us live life with meaning. We will be living with a sense of worth – that we are out to achieve certain goals, aims and objectives. Our life will have direction and we will go through life with fulfillment. Purpose when discovered will lead to pursuit.

“If you have a strong purpose in life, you don’t have to be pushed. Your passion will drive you there.”  Roy T. Bennett

Living life on purpose and for purpose is the key to handling frustration and living life effectively with deep seated satisfaction. Due to the purpose set before us it will help us go through the sacrifice, pains and struggles that will come our way on the road to achieving purpose.

“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.” Friedrich Nietzsche

When a man just lives – without purpose – the vicissitudes of life will make his life unbearable but a man of purpose knows that at the end of the tunnel light surely awaits him.

A man of purpose has a defined direction and a defined destination he is driving his life towards – he is not living aimlessly. He knows his life is aimed at specific targets and goals. Not discovering purpose is tantamount to gambling with our lives.

We need to sit down to find out why are we alive? Why are we born in the country we were born?

Purpose is only discoverable in the mind of the person who invents or creates something. As human beings we did not just happen – we are deliberate creations of God. Purpose is only discoverable in God who created us so we must have recourse to him if we will walk in the correct purpose for our lives.
