Incidences of vote buying were recorded in the ongoing governorship election in Ondo state with no exception of any political party.
In some areas of Akoko, voters were induced with money by political parties in the name of securing votes for their parties and candidates.
Tribune Online observed that some voters openly showed their ballot papers to the agents of the political parties who stationed themselves at strategic positions to indicate their voting preference.
In some of the polling centres, the political agents belonging to different political parties showed understanding with one another while their canvassers moved around to convince voters with money.
Tribune Online correspondent gathered that the cash distributed varied from N20,000 and N30,000 depending on their negotiating power.
Meanwhile, some officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) were said to have arrested a suspected vote-buyer in the Ondo governorship election in Akure, the state capital.
