Virgin Atlantic marks 18 years of presence in Nigeria

British flag carrier, Virgin Atlantic, has celebrated its 18 years of operations between London and Lagos route.

Celebrating the commencement of flights into Nigeria, the airline management in Nigeria announced that it has within the 18 years airlifted over three million customers on board and transported over 5.5 million kilogrammes of cargo.

The airline which presently services the Nigerian/London route with a state-of-the-art Airbus 330-300 with Wi-Fi in all cabins, offers a consistent long haul experience for customers connecting from Lagos seamlessly via London Heathrow to destinations throughout North America across the Virgin Atlantic network including New York and Boston, the leading commercial and educational cities of the US East Coast.

Commenting on the development, the airline’s Commercial Manager,  Nigeria, Justin Bell said: “July 2019 marks 18 years of flying between Lagos and London for Virgin Atlantic. Since its entrance into Nigeria, Virgin Atlantic said had helped communities in Nigeria by engaging in corporate social responsibility activities, which includes delivery of medical supplies to local maternity wards as well as facilitated long-term business mentoring with Sir Richard Branson for some Nigerian entrepreneurs.
