Virgin Atlantic gives families summer travel tips

British flag carrier, Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA), its ground teams and cabin crew have put together some helpful tips to help make the travel experience of the flying public seamless and fun.

This is just as the airline has specially designed in-flight cots which parents can pre-book free of charge to make flights comfortable for their babies while on-board. You can also bring your own child car seat to fit in your child’s seat as long as it meets safety standards.

While welcoming on-board families and friends jetting off for the summer holidays on-board its flights, the airline described planning as a key issue for families when traveling with kids and large groups which also include; from choosing travel destinations to booking flights, sorting out travel documents, pre-ordering meals and bringing your own car seat.

Speaking on the development, the airline’s Cabin Service Supervisor, Frankie Starling, advised adult travelers to  have valid travel documents for chosen travel destinations to avoid last minute surprises while in the case of baggage allowance. He said: “Your choice of ticket entitles you to our fantastic range of baggage allowances. We offer generous baggage allowances from three bags at 32kg each in Upper Class to two bags at 23kg each in Premium Cabin and two bags at 23kg as well as a hand baggage fare for those who like to travel light in Economy.

“Give yourself enough time: It can be tricky traveling with your excited little ones, check your flight times to ensure you arrive at the airport on time and complete the check-in process at least two hours to flight departure time.”

While advising families to ensure their  little ones receive a children’s meal on-board by ordering one online 48 hours in advance, Starling declared: “the meals offer food specifically designed to appeal to children.”
