Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, rocked the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) uniform to the state’s Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja, where he announced a gift of N100,000 to each corps member.
In a viral video, Governor Sanwo-Olu was seen arriving at the NYSC Camp for the official closing ceremony of the Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course on July 16, 2024.
The governor expressed his appreciation for the outgoing youth corps members, taking pictures with them in an atmosphere filled with positive energy.
During his visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu made several announcements, including a pledge of N5 billion for the construction of a new permanent site for NYSC in the state.
He said, ”Each youth corps member passing out today will receive N100,000, which will be deposited directly into their accounts next week. The top 100 corps members from this batch will receive automatic employment in the Lagos Public Service after their service year.”
The governor also donated a 32-seater Hyundai bus to the camp.
