The vice chancellor of Rhema University of Nigeria, Aba, Professor Ogbonnaya Onwudike, has applauded the National Universities Commission (NUC) over the successful accreditation of the five courses run by the university.
Professor Onwudike who made this known while speaking with journalists in Aba recalled that in October/November 2018, the university presented five of its programmes for accreditation to NUC, noting that all the courses got full accredited from the commission.
He further disclosed that the courses scaled through accreditation hurdles, listing the courses to include Mass Communications, Accountancy, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Banking and Finance.
He maintained that the calibre of lecturers and facilities put in place by the university were some of what made the accreditation possible, and that “the institution will not rest on its oars to ensure that it continues to maintain high academic standard in line with its mission statement of equipping humanity for excellence.”
Also speaking, head, Mass Communication department, Dr Uwaoma Uche, expressed delight for the feat recorded by the university, noting that the success story was that students would graduate on record time with sound training.
He stated further that other courses run in the university include Nursing, Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Laboratory Science, Applied Biology, Chemistry/industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, Computer Science, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration and Marketing.
