The Igbinedion University Okada (IUO), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Water Resources Institute, Kaduna in the areas of staff exchange, students’ training and collaborative research.
Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, the Vice-Chancellor of IUO, made this disclosure on Wednesday at the opening ceremony of a workshop organised for staff and students of the university on networking.
“Igbinedion University has seen the need to start collaboration from the national level and extend it to the global arena.

“Areas of collaboration with the institute are to explore the possibility of the establishment of UNESCO chair in one of the related departments in the university, exchange of publications and reports.
“Others are academic/technical information, joint organisation of conferences, workshop seminars and related activities, advocacy and public awareness campaign on water conferences including the establishment of information systems,” he said.
According to him, the university has always championed educational revolution in the country; and has maintained its goal of being the centre of knowledge and excellence.
He stated that the university had discovered that the programmes of the institute were germane to its goals and aspirations and, therefore, decided to collaborate with it.
Ezemonye noted that the university was not only interested in the availability of water but also in water quality.
