Over the course of his decades-long career, Kilmer demonstrated remarkable versatility across various genres, including action, comedy, and historical drama.

With his commanding presence and transformative talent, he left a lasting impression from his first film role in the spy parody “Top Secret!” (1984). However, it was his portrayal of Jim Morrison in “The Doors” (1991) that solidified his place among Hollywood’s elite.

Kilmer also thrived in supporting roles. His performance as the fearless pilot Iceman in “Top Gun” (1986) earned him widespread recognition, while his work in “Heat” (1995) alongside Robert De Niro and Al Pacino proved he could hold his own in an ensemble cast. As Doc Holliday in “Tombstone” (1993), Kilmer delivered an unforgettable performance that remains one of his most celebrated.
