Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello
MINISTER of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has urged Nigerians to use religion as a vehicle for promoting unity and harmonious coexistence in the country.
He gave this charge during the official commissioning of a Guest House developed by the Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’a wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) group at Life Camp, Abuja.
Malam Bello, who was represented by the Sarki of Jiwa, Alhaji Idris Musa, noted that using religious affiliations to encourage disunity would not augur well for the peace and progress of the country, saying “God created us with diverse religious and ethnic background in order for us to co-exist harmoniously in diversity”.
He commended the JIBWIS Islamic group for developing what he referred to as a very wise investment not just for the adherents of the Islamic faith but for humanity in general, adding that the project had added value to the hospitality industry in the nation’s capital.
Earlier in his remark, the leader of the group, Sheikh Bala Lau, said the Guest House named after the founder of JIBWIS, Sheikh Abubakar Mahmoud Gunmi, was built with money realised from sale of Ram skin donated by members who slaughtered Rams during the Eid el Kabir celebrations of 2015 and 2016.
He said the Guest House which comprises four villas each named after prominent leader of the group, would go a long way in relieving the group of the cost of renting hotel accommodation for members of the group who might be in Abuja attending functions.
Several dignitaries, including the Senate President Bukola Saraki, who was represented by Senator Danjuma Goje, also attended the event.
