A four-year-old boy in Wisconsin, United States, took a dramatic stand against what he saw as a serious crime by calling 911 to report his mum for eating his ice cream.
The unusual call prompted a police dispatch to a home in Mount Pleasant last Tuesday, following a 911 hang-up that raised concern.
According to local police, the child dialled emergency services to report that his mum needed to be locked up.
“My mommy is being bad,” the 4-year-old told the 911 dispatcher, according to a recording obtained by CNN affiliate WTMJ.
“Okay, what’s going on?” the dispatcher asked. “Come and get my mommy,” the boy replied.
The situation became clearer when the mother took the phone, amid her son’s protests, and attempted to explain.
“Oh, this little one got the phone, and he’s four,” she told the dispatcher, before admitting, “I ate his ice cream, so that’s probably why he’s calling 911.”
The boy could still be heard arguing his case in the background, clearly displeased with the explanation.

Officers visited the home to ensure there was no underlying emergency. Upon arrival, the boy reaffirmed that his mother had eaten his ice cream and again insisted she should be jailed.
However, police said the child eventually agreed not to press charges, stating he did not want his mum in jail, he simply wanted more ice cream.
In a light-hearted gesture, officers returned two days later and rewarded the young complainant with two scoops of ice cream topped with blue sprinkles.
