Upbeat Recreation Centre holds gymnastics competition

LAST week, the Upbeat Centre, West Africa’s first trampoline park, hosted its first children’s trampoline gymnastics club competition.

Speaking on the gymnastics competition, Upbeats gymnastics coach, Owalter Magana said ‘’I’m excited to be a part of the first gymnastics competition at Upbeat Centre because I believe our programme is growing, not just at Upbeat, but in Nigeria, and we are doing this by bringing other gymnastics clubs in Nigeria together in a competitive environment.’’

With over 30 members, the Upbeat Trampoline Gymnastics Club (UTGC) is on a steady rise as people are quickly accepting the sport and want to be a part of it.

The competition included participants from other gymnastics clubs such as the Eagles gymnastics club, Dynamic gymnastics club and Samsport gymnastics academy.

The competition was an end of term assessment for the gymnasts, and gave them the opportunity to show their parents how good they are on the trampoline, and what skills they have been able to master throughout the term.

Some medal winners from the day include; Imam Zayna, Talissa Hanson, Gia Chidiac and Grace James, all from gymnastics levels one to five.

Services offered include trampolining, trampoline dodgeball, trampoline basketball, wall climbing, and foam pit race among others. There is also a soft play area for kids as well as basketball court, five-a-side football pitch and volleyball court for adults.
