Unripe banana paste recipe to boost your diet

Unripe banana is very low in sugar compared to ripe banana and this makes it a good choice for people living with diabetes. It also has probiotic bacteria, a friendly bacterium that helps with good colon health. In addition, green bananas also help to absorb nutrients better, particularly calcium. It is also high in fibre, excellent for both young and old.

Ingredients for two wraps

  • Eight medium sized unripe banana
  • Water as needed

 

Equipment needed

  • Blender
  • Medium sized pot
  • Wooden spatula
  • Sharp knife

 

Procedure

  • Wash the unripe banana to remove any dirt
  • With a very sharp knife (because the back of unripe banana is usually very hard), peel the banana dispose of the back and cut the inner part to cubes
  • Blend the banana adding water so that it becomes a smooth paste (make sure you add a little at a time so that the paste is not to watery)
  • Pour your paste in a dry pot and stir continuously till it comes together
  • Serve and enjoy with any soup of your choice
  • Best eaten when served hot

Please note that you can blend and store in the freezer, but use within 3 days.

You can also dry the banana and blend store in an air tight container.
